The Thesis

Our Philosophy
of Market Intelligence

The foundation of modern market intelligence was built on rigorous, structured analysis. Having led enterprise research teams at Yankee Group and then founded Reservoir Partners (acquired by Aberdeen Group), Chris Selland understands the immense value that deep research provides to enterprise decision-makers.

However, in an era where software production and market cycles have reached terminal velocity, the traditional "snapshot" research model must evolve. Differential Factor was founded to bridge this gap, replacing static reports with Living & Causal Models designed for a volatile, AI-native environment.

Our Research Architecture

Living Models

We move beyond the static PDF. By leveraging agentic frameworks that process data continuously, we transform findings into active strategic assets that update in real-time.

Causal Frameworks

We solve for the why. By applying causal logic, we move past surface-level correlations to define the actual mechanics behind market shifts and the Competition for Capital.

Intersection Analysis

We specialize in the high-velocity "collision points" where adjacent markets meet, identifying disruption before it becomes a baseline reality.

From Theory to Execution

This thesis is an extension of Chris's work as a Lecturer at Northeastern University's D'Amore-McKim School of Business. By bridging classic disruption theory with modern, AI-augmented methodologies, Differential Factor provides the clarity needed to win the competition for capital in the next decade.
